Cake-y Nail

As I promised just right after my Oh, Lara. But this have to be fast. 'Twas inspired by a manicure where Mr. Google landed me which I'm in fact searching now --- I even scavenged my browser's history, but I gave up. So just to show you, here.

It used to be the background image of my header. Imma being a-mnemonic (from where did I get it so I couldn't give you the link) and I'm candid to admit it. Sorry.

While I'm doing my own version, my li'liest sister gave me a chat and told me she wants me to do it on her nails. I said I was doing it, as in now, on my nails. And she obliges me to post a spoiler. By the way, she's in Riyadh.

Not perfect but I like how it blends. Something that made me think of a layered chocolate cake! The side looks good though...

Base to tip: Orly Porcelain, Essie Topless & Barefoot, Color Club Best Dressed List

Just so you know, it's not good to capture it with flash (not even under the sun) for the reason that T&B will blend to Porcelain and they will look as one color. I took (like) ten of this color but I did not like most of them. Maybe I was not in my hormones.

How about some effect/s?

Oh, Lara (and her better halves)!

One of the fancy lacquers I have in my chest is the striking Lara's Theme. At first, I have the dilemma of "to wear or not to wear". It looks stunning on Beyonce (but I'm not Beyonce). On the other hand, I might look histrionic on this color (and somehow, not far from reality. Dang.).

Taken in morning, indoor w/o flash

Not bad, huh. Have I said that it's one of my favorite? If not yet, then I'm saying it is. Not just because of it's fanciness (well it counts), errr, it applies and blends perfectly. Purely creme and thick consistency.  It reminds me of Essie YHoM or OPI Manicurist of Seville.

To stamp or not to stamp? To french or not to french? After all, Lara alone is gorgeous. But I have to search for her better half. And here's what I've come up...

Pinkie to Thumb: CG Jitterbug, Orly Pure Porcelain, CG For Audrey, Essie Midnight Cami, Orly Luxe

Taken indoor, w/o flash under direct warm light

Seems hard to judge. All of them looks pretty perfect. Too bad I only have ten fingers. Haha

Here's the last before I fall in to deep sleep.

Shrek & Moi

Hey wait, it's not actually Shrek whose with me. I mean it's not actually me whose with Shrek --- what???

I mean this:

Okay. It's clear now.

I saw this from my uncle's Facebook after I saw True Blood's "I want you every which way. I just want you." But Shrek is the sweetest! Just don't know if he'll also look sweet in my nails. Let's see...

All are pictures are taken indoor at daytime. Third photo is taken outdoor and under the sun.

Very thematic! I never thought that I'll love OPI Who the Shrek Are You this much. I'm sad 'cos I only own the mini bottle for this color. The red in contrast is OPI Opi Red.

I have this color four months ago and never tested. The minis look really cute but very hard to apply, IMO. The brush is so small plus the fact that it's a creme (which means it's a li'l bit sticky), it gave me some trouble in application. Maybe I can dilute it. I'm so much of a mess to use acetone as a diluent! As a result, I no longer can use my favorite polish. Sad.

So never, ever, dilute you lacquer using acetone. I'm so ashamed for doing this! Haha

I'll just hunt for the full-size bottle or a dupe.

I wear red

I am so so (and very) sorry that it took me forever to post this. I guesstimate doing this three days ago but I can give you lots of excuses why I fail doing so. For all that I'm posting it now. Hmmm... Hard to decide what color and shade to use. Yeah, I picked red --- and amongst my red family --- Zoya Kimmy, OPI Opi Red, OPI Manicurist of Seville, Essie Too Too Hot, Essie Meet Me At Sunset, guess who won?

1st photo: Daytime w/o flash
2nd photo: Daytime w/ flash

If you will notice, the polish actually appears to be in plum family in the bottle but it's so surprising that it's in the red-berry family! Not to mention how gorgeous is it in my nails! Oh by the way, it's OPI Manicurist of Seville.

I halved it using my magic tape and China Glaze Platinum Silver and pat with Misa Dance Fever/OPI Crown Me Already that I got from my dearest Rina! You can use either of the two. I use two different glitter lacquers just for comparison and I end up loving CRA bigtime. Sealed it with 2 coats of Seche Vite. In my opinion, it will last for 6 days w/o chipping except for the shrinking issue of SV. I took the pic in Day 2.

And lastly, my instagramed version.

It's February 13 in Manila and tomorrow is the V-day. Happy hearts day!

Lace & Roses

I dreamed about roses last night. I almost thought of it as a weird thing though considering that it's almost valentines, alright, fairly accepted.

Comes now is what I have actualized. Lace and roses nails. Two coats of OPI Bubble Bath for the base (I don't have a nude that's close to my skin so I choose this), stamped with Konad plates 57 and 65 using Black Creme from Wet n' Wild.

I envy those ladies who can make their lace perfect. I'm 80% happy with the result 'cos as you can see, the black creme smeared. I don't know if it only happen to me. But my sisters, girlfriends and boyfriends liked/loved it. Would you believe that it took me hella long to finish?! Well that's for real and I might do the better version next time.

This is my favorite instagramed version!

From Roses to Cotton Candies

Just so you know that I'm not fond of colors red and pink but then again, I still want to keep the ones bought and use them. Somewhat this is what I did three days ago; considering it's the "red/pink" (my opinion for the colors of Valentine) month, I want to create a nail art that'll make someone think of valentine. Funny that after all my effort, it didn't turn that way! My four and five-year old nieces say that it looks like a cotton candy.

Please forgive my mess and not cleaning.

Here are the the stuffs:
1st color (in-line w/ the cuticle): butter London Snog
Middle color: OPI Manicurist of Seville
Tips: OPI Opi Red

So "write"

Today's the first day of the love month (oh yeah!) and there are so many things in my head. I supposed to be in my hiding place on 14th but one of my girls suggested a bachelorettes party for the "legally" single ladies. Why does legally have to be emphasized???

When I saw the mini notepad from OPI So write together pack, I was like "I have to have it by all means!" To make it short, I got it. Ha-ha!

When I opened the pack, I disregard the polishes (OPI Red and Bubble Bath) and took the notepad immediately. Adorable!

And so, it gave me an inspiration to match it with my nails.

Base - Essie Your Hut or Mine --- This is the most perfect polish for me. I thought about Zoya Cassi but I love YHoM. The color doesn't look good in the bottle but once you apply it, (it's kinda sheer and you have to make 3 coats to achieve the opaque finish) believe me, it's stunning! Plus, it doesn't chip even in Day 4.

For stamping, I use Konad m63 and OPI Sparrow Me the Drama and Seche Vite for top coat.

Spread the love!
